Dr Frank Simonson

(B.App.Sc, B.Med (Honours), Diploma RANZCOG (Advanced), FACRRM)

​

Dr Simonson joined the Merimbula Medical Centre in 1994 after having a number of years training in obstetrics and gynaecology and emergency medicine in hospitals in Sydney and Newcastle.

 

He holds the Advanced Diploma with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He is a member of the Australian Medical Association, the NSW Rural Doctors Association and the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Medicine. Dr Simonson holds Specialist Registration in General Practice with the Medical Board of Australia.

 

Dr Simonson has completed Certificate training in the Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (EMST), Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS), Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALS), Drug and Alcohol Medicine, Pain Management, Ultrasound for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ultrasound for Rural Medicine and Cosmetic Medicine.

 

He has over 20 years experience as a Visiting Medical Officer at both Pambula and Bega Hospitals. He held the positions of President of National Hospital Medical Officers Group, Membership of the Medical Training Review Panel for the Commonwealth Government, Chair of Pambula Distric Hospital Medical Staff Council and membership of the Credential and Appointment Committees for the Southern Area Health Service.

 

He is married and lives with his wife in Merimbula.
